About Mackenna
From a young age, Mackenna Swann knew that she had the gift of singing & songwriting. As a child, she sang to herself in her bedroom, where no one could hear her. She knew, however, that this gift inside her needed to be shared and she would in fact, share it.

Mackenna was diagnosed at age eleven with a rare bone condition in her knees and was told on the table of an orthopedist's office that she may never be able to walk again. Hearing this news led Swann into three double knee surgeries. A large portion of her childhood was spent in a wheelchair, where she learned the depths of physical pain, faith, and placing trust in God. While Mackenna was in a wheelchair for those years, she turned to music for escape. “Music was my way of letting everything else go around me."

Mackenna started to open up during this time of recovery, as vulnerability took an essential role in being almost completely reliant on other people to live daily life. When she was finally standing after three years, Mackenna was ready to share her gift with the world. She fell in love with playing piano and found a deep well of passion in singing, pledging that this was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life: to inspire others and share her talents. In 2018, Mackenna attended Belmont University to further pursue her talents of singing & songwriting. She recorded and wrote songs in Los Angeles and collaborated in the vibrant community of Nashville. In 2019, Mackenna was asked to open for Kelly Clarkson in the CHOC Children’s Hospital of Orange County’s Annual Gala. The two of them assisted to raise four million dollars for integrative medicine at the hospital. Mackenna has performed in many gigs in Nashville, sharing her voice with the community around her. She has recently graduated as a songwriting major and has finished recording her first single, “Christmas Together.” She has also released a single since then called, "Something Good," which speaks to her health journey and the hope she has found through it.

Since moving to Nashville, Mackenna has collaborated with the Christian songwriting community and recorded her third single, “Hands.” Mackenna is continuing to write and release music as an independent artist. She has also recently started to lead worship at The Church at Woodbine where she is able to share her talents with the wonderful community there. In the future, Mackenna hopes to continue to share her talents despite her physical challenges. She is very excited for the journey ahead!
